Shilpa Shetty, Reema Sen in trouble |
 
Feb 14: Bollywood actresses, Shilpa Shetty and Reema Sen seem to be
in trouble.
A court in Madurai in Tamil Nadu issued summons to them today in
connection with the publication of "obscene pictures" in a Tamil
eveninger, 'Tamil Murasu'.
Judicial Magistrate Seetaraman hearing the complaint made by an
advocate directed the actress and the publisher of the ‘eveninger’ R
N Murugan to appear before the court on March 10.
The petitioner T Dakshinamoorthy, had submitted before the court
that the paper had had carried "sexy blow ups" and "medium posters"
in its issues on seven days in December and January.
This has violated Section 3 and 4 of the Indecent Representation of
women (prohibition) Act and Sec 3 of Young persons Harmful
Publications Act and IPC sec 292 (Sale of Obscene books), the
petition said.

Apart from "misleading the youth, the pictures would also increase
violence against women", the petition added.
 The
pictures should be confiscated under the provisions of the Press and
registration of Books act, 1967, the petitioner demanded.
Recently, south Indian actress Khushboo was in the midst of
controversy when her obscene picture appeared in the Indian edition
of Maxim - a London based popular English magazine.
The actress had moved the court to sue the publisher for publishing
her picture where her face was reportedly merged with someone else's
body.
The Tamil actress has also complained to the Chennai commissioner of
police R. Natraj about the issue who had ordered the confiscation of
the magazines from the city and the entire state. |

14 - Mariah Carey is blaming her Chanel dress for her imperfect
appearance at the Golden Globe awards.
Mariah Carey wore a skintight B&W satin Chanel gown that had been
designed and fitted ok by the house’s esteemed head, Karl Lagerfeld.
On the night, US fashion expert David Evangelista said the 'Hero'
singer's plunging black number "looked like a wine bottle opener".
Now Carey has hit back, blaming the outfit's figure-hugging fabric.
She told America's Rolling Stone magazine: "Satin is very unforgiving.
"What was I going to do? Call Karl Legerfeld and say, 'Can you please
make it out of matte jersey instead?'"
The morning after the event - when designers usually plug who wore their
dresses - Chanel reportedly left the singer's name off their press
release.
Publicist for the fashion house, Gretchen Gunlocke-Fenton, denied it was
done deliberately.
She said: "Was she left off?
"That could have been because we're never sure what the stars will wear
until the last minute. And she had several fittings in Los Angeles after
she met personally with Karl in Paris." |
