But Penelope Cruz went one step further on her latest film, getting worryingly close to a four-legged beast.

The Spanish actress took a definite shine to a camel she had to ride whilst filming Sahara.

And this came despite the fact that she was initially a little nervous of her wandering prop.

"I had nightmares about the camel because people had told me they were mean and stupid - but they're not like that," the Daily Mail reports her as saying.

"After training for a long time, I really became friends with my camel. I would talk to him and he would answer.

"At the end of the day, I would ask for extra time for me to gallop around the desert. I loved it."

Her co-star and now boyfriend, Matthew McConaughey must have been a little irked at his on-set competition.

She is to turn her exquisitely-manicured hand to singing. And what kind of music is Ms Hilton aspiring to?
