DEC 28:
Actress Hurley may have upset Posh by ignoring an apparent order to keep
cleavage to a minimum - she wore an ivory satin off the shoulder dress with
white fur shawl to the glitzy christening of Brooklyn and Romeo Beckham. Victoria, who is expecting her third child in March, is said to have
planned the ceremony down to the smallest detail. The bash was hosted by Posh Spice Victoria and England captain David
Beckham.
A host of stars also attended. Sir Elton John topped the bill.
He was said to be one of the godfathers for Brooklyn, five, and
two-year-old Romeo.
Other stars at the ceremony included godmother Liz Hurley and Victoria's
former Spice Girl band mates, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Melanie
Chisholm.
The Beckhams built a faux-Gothic chapel for the occasion in the grounds
of their Sawbridgeworth mansion.
Security was tight outside the family's home for the party for about 50
guests.
Even though the two Becks boys were said to have had a traditional Christian
ceremony, the Church of England had said it would not carry out the service
as the newly-built, mock tumbledown chapel was not on holy ground.
The proud parents sent pink champagne to the gates of the mansion where
reporters were waiting outside.
A spokesman said to waiting journalists: "David and Victoria wish to say
thank you for coming and a Merry Christmas from both of them." |
