Suave n simple
By Anupama Narayanswamy
She’s
hot, she’s sensuous and she's a glam girl. She’s Fleur Xavier, a model
at the pinnacle of her career. Fleur started her career in 1996, and
since then has worked with top Indian designers like Rocky S, Krishna
Mehta and Pallavi Jaikishen among others.
Unlike many of her counterparts, Fleur preferred to
stay in India, in spite of innumerable offers thst came her way from
big European labels. Down to earth and no starry airs is what fleur
can be defined as. And simplicity, for her, is the essence of living.
" I usually chill out in front of the idiot box when I’m not working",
she says. And no saas-bahu serial routine for her; it’s sitcoms that
catch her fancy.
Naturally, celluloid so far from attractive. Ramp is what watches
her fancy as of now. And rightly so, considering that Fleur has in
hand, top-modeling assignments, besides being the brand ambassador of
designer label Westside and cosmetic company Revlon.
Fleur's hobby is to read and read books that lighten her heart with a
few laughs, her favourite author being Erma Bombeck. Travelling to
sun-kissed beaches are a passion with Fleur. And she loves Maldives
the best. Fleur however has a soft spot for her homeground, and loves
the city of Mumbai, comparing it to the fast-paced life of New York.
But the glam girl is not fashion-consciuous at heart She actually
loves to saunter in a pair of jeans and a T shirt. Now, isn't that
what we call suave 'n' simple!
