Bangladesh : Fashion fiesta for a cause

AUG 17: The title SOS --'Save Our Soul' - a fundraiser fashion show and cultural event, was held for the raising money to aid the flood victims. The venue All Community Club had gorgeous and glamorous ramp models, designers and the trendy Dhakaites coming together for a noble cause on August 14.

The fashion show was organised by two event management companies-- Verge and Fusion.

The remarkable evening started with dance performances with a solo song. Then the programme unfolded the much awaited fashion show with the gorgeous creations of acclaimed designer Chandana Dewan. Models clad in sarees, kurtas and punjabees depicted the designers' unique blend of eastern and western styles. Her second queue featured formal designs in silk, georgette, cottons and other fabrics in vibrant colours.

Then the models came with designer Sujan's collections. His western outfit and a good number of jute bag collections were simply awesome. Even the largely youthful audience sometimes hooted, whistled and cheered to show their appreciation for the designer's collections. Shanta and Roopam were on hand to regale the audience with some popular songs.

Designer duo Aamir and Mahmud came with their male collections, which are popularly known as Mask. Nasrin Jahan Munmun's collections of eastern and western outfits, followed.

Much to the delight of the audience, Seema Shaha came up with her hand painted and block printed collections of sarees, kurtas. fatuas and punjabees. The last attraction was designer Jahangir Karim's collection of western outfits as well as our own traditional sarees and kurtas.

All the popular ramp models; Emi, Azra, Alif, Asif, Major, Aanchal, Chaity, Farah, Tumpa, Fardin and others also sashayed on the ramp.

The show kept the audience spellbound for the entire evening.
