Bollywood to showcase Islam in movie

JAN 4 - Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt will soon start shooting a film about the July suicide bombings in London that left 56 people dead in a bid to show Islam as a religion of peace. Titled "Suicide Bomber", the Hindi movie will star Bhatt's son Rahul in the role of a young Asian Muslim planning to trigger the blasts in London. "The movie is inspired by the London bombings and my son will make his film debut by playing the key role of the suicide bomber who is of Asian origin," Bhatt told AFP.

The production will be set in London and India. "I have been researching on the script since the bombings and through the movie I plan to highlight that Islam is a religion of peace and not dreadful as it is perceived by the world," Bhatt said. "I will attempt to bring out the virtues of Islamic living and also show how the state (government) can sometimes be a demon. The film will delve into the heart and mind of a suicide bomber," he added. (AFP)

Another Mughal-e-Azam remake?

JAN 2: With historicals making such a strong comeback, the market is rife with reports that Venus has decided to remake Mughal-e-Azam with Big B as Emperor Akbar, Shahrukh Khan as Prince Salim and Ash as Anarkali.

The film is reported to be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi with the music baton to be handled by A.R.Rahman.

But these are unconfirmed reports as yet.

Priced at Rs. 60, the magazine is now available in major Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore. It is the first international men's lifestyle magazine to enter India. The edition featuring Priyanka is the 30th international edition of the magazine and the future editions would feature more Bollywood beauties.
