Naseeruddin Shah calls Shammi Kapoor his icon
May 15: Versatile actor Naseeruddin Shah says its not Dilip Kumar or Balraj Sahani who had been his icon but if there is anybody he adores, it is Shammi Kapoor.

"I don't see why I have to justify why I like Shammi Kapoor. He was just a very good actor, no one can do songs like him. And no one looked more interesting than him. I don't think there has ever been a more magnetic, attractive, sexy and funny guy on the Hindi screen, ever, " Naseeruddin said.

"I don't care if people snigger when I say I look up to Shammi Kapoor and have attempted to emulate him in my small way. He is the man! There are not too many others who I look up to. There are many people whose work I watch and find interesting, " the actor who recently turned director said.

Talking more, Naseeruddin said the tragedy with Shammi Kapoor is that he never did a great movie. He did "Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya" kind of movies, but they were rotten movies. His good ones are films like Teesri Manzil which might just survive.

Among the current lot of actors, Naseeruddin likes Saif Ali Khan a lot. "I find Saif very funny. I think he has grown tremendously. I also like Ajay Devgan a lot. Apart from being a good actor, he is also a very responsible producer. He backs movies which he thinks are worthwhile."

Among the actresses, "Kareena is marvelous. Konkona is out of this world. Tabu is also marvelous," Naseeruddin added.

No more stripping on screen: Neha Dhupia
NehaMAY 14 - Neha Dhupia has announced that she will no more be stripping on the screen. "I will be dressing-up on screen from now on,’’ Neha said in a media interview.

She says "it's a conscious decision on her part because there is no point of being an actor if you can’t wake up every morning to play a different role.’’

When asked if that meant goodbye to skin flicks like 'Julie', her reply was, ‘‘They were a different genre. I am a versatile actor and want to do all kinds of roles.’’

On being probed whether skin show can sustain an actor’s career for long, Neha said, ‘‘I don’t know about others but I want to go beyond getting wild on screen. This doesn’t mean I will not be sexy and glamorous in my forthcoming films but you will not get to see my skin,’’ she said in her reply to the anchor in a TV interview.

Neha's upcoming movie is 'Chup Chup Ke' with Kareena Kapoor, where she plays second lead role. She said she has no hang-ups and don't mind playing second fiddle in movies. "All I care is how powerful is my role", she asserted.

Neha's next project is Kumar Sanu’s 'Utthan' where she plays Jessica Lall, the famous model who was shot dead at a bar in Delhi. The actress refuses to make any detailed comment on her role in this movie. All she is ready to say is that she is a part of the film.
