Serial Kisser in “The Killer”

JULY 22 - Serial kisser, Emraan Hashmi was in capital Delhi to promote his movie “The Killer” - another sensation after ‘Murder’, ‘Zeher’, ‘Aashiq Banaaya Aapne’, ‘Chocolate’, ‘Aksar’, ‘Kalyug’, ‘Jawani Diwani’ and ‘Gangster’

The movie “The Killer” is produced by Mukesh Bhatt, directed by Hasnain.S. Hyderabadwala & Raksha Mistry under the banner of Vishesh Films.

Talking about his role in the movie Hashmi said that he plays the role of a young guy “Nikhil Joshi” who has gone to Dubai and has a dream of becoming a rich man. However, he is a taxi driver in Dubai, and is madly in love with a girl Ria so much so that he is willing to do anything for his love. However life had planned something else for him. Irffan Khan who plays the role of Vikram hails the cab. Vikram holds Joshi hostage in a bizarre plot to bump off various people who would identify against the dreaded don Jabbar, who is at risk of being deported to India to face charges against him. Nikhil being the helpless witness to one killing after another finds his life and dreams crumbling around him. How Nikhil fights back to get out from the situation is what The Killer is all about.

Hashmi thinks what the audience will like the best in the movie, will be the dialogues and the chemistry between the hero and the killer. According to him, The Killer is what everybody can relate to. His upcoming movies are Good Boy Bad Boy, Train, Awarapan and few more which have not been titled yet. The reason for his continuous hits Emraan said “It’s my inner instinct to choose a movie and the next factor is about the convincing power of the director.”

The man who has a smooching image on screen has actually been in a serious relationship with longtime girlfriend and will be tying the knot in December, says a press release.

Salman's Birthday Bash for Katrina

JULY 17 - When Salman Khan decides to throw a birthday party for his girlfriend, it’s a given that it will be a talked about event, even if it’s a low-key affair.

Salman invited his close friends to ‘bring in’ girlfriend Katrina Kaif’s birthday (July 16) at his Bandra flat at midnight, and everyone showed up — except his younger brother Arbaaz, who was away in London.

Not a surprise bash

Says a guest present at the party, “It was an intimate get-together of family and friends. Salman had personally called everyone for Kat’s party.

He wanted to bring it in the night before as she was slated to fly to London to shoot for Priyadarshan’s film Bhaagam Bhaag, on the next day.” Our source reveals that it wasn’t a surprise party, and Kat was aware of Salman’s plans.

Starry guest list

The guest list read like the who’s who of tinseltown. David Dhawan, Dino Morea, Riteish Deshmukh, Mukesh Talreja, Boney and Anil Kapoor, Sajid Nadiadwala with wife Wardha, Malaika and Amrita Arora, Sohail Khan and wife Seema, Bhushan Kumar and his wife, and Nikhil Advani.

Said the guest, “It was a small affair which turned out to be really big. There were almost 60 people chilling in Salman’s hall. His parents, Salim and Salma, dropped in for a short time and left early. The surprise guests were Ram Gopal Varma and Pritish Nandy, who also turned up to wish Katrina.”

No fuss, no frills

And no, Salman didn’t sing Happy Birthday to Katrina. “There was no singing or anything, everyone was just sitting around and having a good time, chatting and catching up. It was a very dressed down affair. Even Kat was simply attired in a T-shirt and jeans and the atmosphere was pretty informal and homely.”

Even the cake was no-fuss. “The cake too was more for effect, as a birthday party commands one. It was a simple chocolate cake. There were no decorations or anything. The food was ordered especially from JW Marriott and was scrumptious. It was sushi — which was ordered keeping in mind that it is the birthday girl’s favorite dish.”

Food from outside was a break from tradition, because normally Salman’s parties boast of home-cooked, delicious biryani, kebabs and other Mughlai dishes. The guests didn’t get gifts or flowers for the birthday girl either. (Mid-Day)
