JAN 2 - Mallika Sherawat’s tantrums and diva-like demands
aren’t new to anyone.
Known for her starry attitude, Madame M has now finished
shooting for an item number for the Kannada film Preethi
Eke Bhoomi Melidhe in Bangalore this week, but not before
giving sleepless nights to producer Ashwini Ram Prasad.
Sherawat was miffed when she found a press photographer
clicking her pictures and stopped shooting. The shooting
resumed only when the photographer was made to leave the
premises.
Our khabru on the sets informs, “Ashwini had signed an
agreement with Mallika stating no media person or
photographer would be allowed on the sets when she was
shooting for the song.
So when she saw a photographer over there, she threw a
tantrum and stopped the shoot.”
No paparazzi
Reveals a unit member, “Some press photographers had
invaded the sets the day prior to this incident but Mallika
did not notice them. It was only the next day when she saw
her pictures in local papers that she realised what had
happened.
She was irritated but let it slide. However, when she was
shooting in a studio in Yeshwantpur, the paparazzi intruded
again. This time, her bodyguards noticed them and informed
her. Mallika refused to shoot after that.”
When contacted, Ashwini admits Mallika had indeed stopped
shooting and had called him to complain about the
photographer. “I rushed to the sets and got everything
cleared. The press photographer had got in when I was away
or else it wouldn’t have happened,” explains Ashwini.
Agreement ho gaya
But Ashwini wishes Mallika had been more cooperative and
interacted with the media, which would’ve helped his film,
“Bound by the agreement, I couldn’t force her. I tried to
make her agree, but she said she doesn’t interact with the
media while she was shooting even in Mumbai,” adds Ashwin.
A source close to Mallika says she was justified in not
wanting to be disturbed during shooting, “When she shot in
front of Veeresh theatre on Magadi Road, the area was
blocked for three hours and the Bangalore police had to
indulge in mild lathi charge to control the big crowd.
Again when the shooting was taking place on the streets of
Majestic, Padarayanapura, Gowripalya and City market,
special police protection was sought in these busy areas.
Almost all days they were shooting outdoors in strenuous
conditions. So, she was not wrong if she had laid down a
condition of not having any other distractions while
shooting.”
Apparently, Mallika has been paid Rs 50 lakh for her
gyrations in this Kannada flick, but all Ashwini was
willing to say is, “All said and done, she has added value
to my movie. Her fee is strictly confidential.” (The
