Take a Thrilling Ride on 'The Train'
Hollywood's 'Derailed' gets a Bollywood
makeover |
|
|
It's bold and it's beautiful.
Director duo Raksha Mistry and
Hasnain
Hyderabadwala yet again come up with another thrilling
romance -- "The Train" -- with a touch of Hollywood.

Inspired by 2005 Hollywood flick "Derailed" starring
Jennifer Aniston and Clive Owen, "The Train" revolves around
one man's life. Vishal (Emraan Hashmi) is a married man
living an unhappy life with his wife, Anjali (Sayali Bhagat)
and their five-year-old daughter Nikki. One fine day,
Vishal's life changed when he meets the pretty and seductive
Roma (Geeta Basra) on the train. Thus begins a sultry and
adulterous affair between the two that Vishal feels he is
the most happiest and satisfied man on earth.
Vishal's unusual behavior sparks suspicion in Anjali's mind
and the story takes a sharp twist when a complete stranger
surfaces threatening to destroy Vishal's life. Torn between
the two women -- the two loves -- in his life, Vishal is now
faced with an ultimate challenge to deal with the stranger.
The result is a thrilling and fast-paced race between Vishal
and the unknown blackmailer.
A commendable direction from duo Mistry and Hyderabadwala,
"The Train" keeps you on the fast track with its train-like
speed. You get Goosebumps with each reel and your heart
beats faster with each passing moment. It keeps you on the
edge of your seat till the very end of the journey (till the
hidden face is finally revealed.)
The highlight of the movie is its stunning climax. The music
is superb. It perfectly suits the pace of the movie. "Woh
Ajnabee" and "Beete Lamhe" are two unforgettable numbers.
The cinematography does complete justice to the breathtaking
locales of Bangkok, capturing the best.
The performances are another notable point. Emraan Hashmi
has proven that he has matured as an actor by handling the
movie with much care and maturity. Since he is the main
attraction (as for the characters), he understands the
responsibility before him and portrays his character
convincingly to his best. Four out of five stars for his
acting.
The Emraan-Geeta pair is a surprise package in the movie.
They make a super hot couple. Simply delicious. Geeta did a
good job in conveying her character Roma and proved that she
can perform even better. Sayali Bhagat delivers a natural
performance.
The editing is the only minus point. The sequences involving
the blackmailer stretch a bit too long. The directors could
have chopped off a bit in the second half of the movie to
make "The Train" a more enjoyable ride.
Overall, "The Train" guarantees you a bold, romantic
thriller that is worth-a-watch for an entertaining ride.
