Mahesh Bhatt walks out of TV show episode |
NOV 30 - Mahesh Bhatt and Shabana Azmi go back a long way. So
when during a recording of Sahara One's reality show "Jhoom
India" in Mumbai earlier this week, a couple of contestants
including singer Sanjeevani were openly rude to her, the
director couldn't take it any longer. Bhatt got up and left the
recording as a shocked Shabana tried to pacify the incensed
moviemaker. Recounting the incident Mahesh says: "They weren't
rude to me. But some of the contestants were rude to Shabana and
our third and most senior jury member, music composer Anandji.
The contestants were implying that the jury is biased. I had to
put my foot down. It was a family quarrel." Adds the intrepid
Mahesh: "One of the pleasures of judging "Jhoom India" is that I
get to work with my favorite actress Shabana again".

NOV 24 - All roads in Goa led to Kala Academy, as Bollywood
Badshah Shah Rukh Khan arrived to inaugurate the 38th
International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2007. King Khan's
magic affected the cops too. While the fans -- most of them
women and children -- were going berserk, the policemen deployed
to control the crowd outside the Kala Accademy were all keyed up
for a glimpse. "I won't tell you my name, but I'm so excited
that finally I got to see Shah Rukh Khan from close quarters. I
love his films. We are on duty so we can't talk much, but it was
certainly a pleasure seeing him," said a policeman. Some fans
managed to breach three security cordons to have a closer look
at the star. Two girls, Amrita and Aarti, were jumping with joy
and said they pretended to be media persons to see their
favorite star.

Kareena, Ranbir bring Kapoor clan together

NOV 15 - What the other Kapoor scions couldn't do, cousins
Kareena and Ranbir have done. They've broken the ice between the
warring factions. Kareena openly made appreciative statements
about her cousin's debut, going as far as to say Ranbir looked
'stunning' in the movie. "I loved 'Saawariya'. It's awesome. And
Ranbir is so good. We Kapoors are here to rock together,"
Kareena said. At the premiere of 'Saawariya' last week, Kareena,
who walked in with Saif Ali Khan, looking stunning in a black
sari, insisted on sitting in the same row with the entire Kapoor
clan, including her father Randhir Kapoor and uncle Rishi Kapoor.
Kareena insisted on sitting with the rest of the family to show
support for her cousin," said an organizer of the premiere.

Big B cashing big bucks in stock market |

It's not only Ambanis and Mittals
who are making big bucks on the bourses, even Bollywood
superstar Amitabh Bachchan has seen his stock market wealth grow
over ten-fold in just about two-and-half years.
Bachchan currently holds 10 lakh shares worth over Rs 23 crore in
Energy Development Company Ltd (EDCL) - a
company promoted by his friend and politician Amar Singh, from
Rs 2.3 crore at the end of June 2005 quarter when he purchased
these shares. The shares of EDCL are currently trading at Rs
230.65 on the Bombay Stock Exchange and has more than tripled in
the past one month. EDCL is probably the only listed company
where Bachchan holds shares.

Sherawat seems to be the hot favorite with the Chinese.
First it was her role opposite Jackie Chan in The Myth, and
then she walked the red carpet at Cannes on his arm and now
this! One of Hong Kong's premier magazines has listed her as
one of the 100 most beautiful women in Asia.
Cover, which is a leading fashion magazine of Hong Kong,
feels their list of 100 most beautiful women in Asia, would
not be complete without Mallika.
Besides Mallika, the magazine's list of beautiful women also
includes actors, models and socialites and television
presenters from all over Asia. The magazine now intends to
do a special feature on Mallika in one of their forthcoming
issues.

Aamir Khan calls on Kapoors
|
 NOV 10 - Aamir Khan visited Shammi Kapoor and presented a copy
of his film music. Reportedly, he touched Kapoor's feet and
presented him with a copy of the music CD of ‘Taare Zameen Par’, and
sought his blessings. Kapoor was obviously thrilled.
Aamir’s
family has a long standing relationship with Shammi Kapoor, as
Aamir’s uncle Nasir Hussain had made many films like ‘Teesri
Manzil’ and ‘Tumsa Nahin Dekha’ starring Shammi Kapoor. Kapoor
is said to have
told him about his passion for internet and Mac computers. Also,
right there in Aamir’s presence, Kapoor heard the music of the
film on his computer. |
