If things had worked out, Aishwarya Rai
would have crooned for Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodhaa-Akbar.
But the actress somehow never managed to find time for
it.
The song in question is the devotional track Mann Mohana,
which has now been rendered by Bela Shende.
Too busy
Reveals Jodhaa’s composer A R Rahman, “Ashutosh strongly
felt that Aishwarya could record the song in her own
voice, as a bonus for her fans. So, we got Bela to
record the track and waited for Ash to come and dub it.
It’s sheer bad luck that when I was free, Ash was too
busy and vice-versa. Meanwhile, we got so used to
hearing Bela’s voice that we decided to retain it,”
insists Rahman, who is currently gearing up to flag off
his own music academy.
Miss keeps missing
Incidentally, this is the second time that Ash has
missed out on a chance to see her name in the song
credits. Earler, she was supposed to record the tapori
duet number Apun Bola Tu Meri Laila with Shah Rukh Khan
in Mansoor Khan’s Josh.
Maybe Ash can take tips from hubby Abhishek who has the
experience of Ek Main Aur Ek Tu Hai from Bluffmaster!

JAN 14 - Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan have only one film
together — Tashan. But the lovers are interested in
working together not only on the big screen, but also in
commercials. And they have relayed this message to
advertising companies as well.
Both Saif and Bebo are doing a record number of
endorsements. It’s obvious that the lovers want to spend
as much time as possible. In the past year, Kareena has
flown in to be with her beau in different parts of the
world.
This was possible only because she wasn’t shooting. Now
the couple are thinking ahead and want to plan their
next assignments — films and advertisements — so that
they can spend time together.
Missing you
A source reveals that it was Kareena’s idea. She sounded
it off to Saif who willingly agreed. “Saif and Kareena
are like a new couple who want to be together all the
time.
And since, in their profession, this is not always
possible, the best way to ensure that is to work
together as much as possible.”
“Saif never had that problem with his ex, Rozza
Catalano.
She travelled with him everywhere he went because she
didn’t have any work commitments and Saif misses having
his lady around with him on outdoor shoots,” adds the
source.
Madame says
It is learnt that Kareena has instructed Matrix — the
agency that manages her — to hunt for opportunities
where she and Saif could feature together. “Saif likes
the idea of being a commercially hot pair like John-Bipasha.”
So, don’t be surprised if the next time you switch on
the television and see B-Town’s latest couple goading
you to buy a particular brand of toothpaste and potato
chips. |
