Govinda overwhelmed by Sallu's
gesture |
|
|
DEC
30: Govinda is reportedly truly overwhelmed by Salman Khan's
gestue of presenting him with a Mercedes Benz because the
actor-politician had refused to take remuneration for a
film.
'He signed me at a time when he was at the peak of his
career and my career was in the pits. I wanted to thank him
but even before I could do so, he went one step further and
presented me with a Mercedes. I can never forget this
gesture of his for the rest of my life,' Govinda said.
Not many are aware that Govinda had co-starred with Salman
in 'Deewana Mastana' many years ago, when he made a
fleeting appearance in the film, reported Bollywood Trade.
'I merely managed to say hello to Salman at that time but
now he's more than a friend to me,' he said.
He is very excited about Salman and Sohail's yet untitled
home production to be directed by David Dhawan.
'Working with David Dhawan is like homecoming after a long
time. I really feel privileged,' Govinda said.
Govinda is currently working with Priyadarshan and Nikhil
Advani. |

SRK for uniting India and Pakistan |
|
|
DEC 27: Like the character of Major Ram he played in the
runaway hit Main Hoon Na , superstar Shah Rukh Khan has a
desire to see India and Pakistan unite.
Whether that will ever happen is anybody's guess.
In an interview to the BBC World, SRK said that he has
always viewed India and Pakistan as one. He also expressed
his desire to see them unite.
"I do wish we could progress socially, economically and
religiously together and I would love it to be one country.
We would kick everybody's butt in hockey and cricket, I'm
sure - if we got together," SRK said in an interview, which
was telecasted on Tuesday evening.
SRK also called for the industry to be gentler as cinema can
play an important role in resolving tensions between India
and Pakistan.
The King Khan said: "Cinema needs to be more gentle - it can
explain to people that we are one world or we live in the
same area and we have the same thoughts, same problems and
we need to sort them out in a way that is more amicable than
politicizing an issue."
SRK also talked about being a Muslim and shared his
experience of being frisked at American airports.
SRK said he feels it is his duty as a Muslim and as a human
being to spread a message to the world that Islam is not a
violent religion.
"I think terrorism has no religion, it's just a point of
view - right or wrong. I am sure it's right from their point
of view but it's wrong for most of us... what religion they
belong to, or what country they belong to, I don't think
it's the reason they are doing it." |
