Police caught the man in the act in the suburb of Gulshan and detained him for "a few hours", reports the local Daily Star.

The man told officers he was a High Court judge but law ministry officials initially failed to recognize his name.

The judge, whose name was not released, was one of 19 new judges whose recent appointment drew sharp criticism.

He was freed from police custody following the intervention of the office of the Chief Justice.

The 59-year-old, from Bari in Italy, now faces fraud charges after it was revealed he had been claiming disability benefits from the state since 1986.

He was caught out when his employees at a garden centre where he worked as a blind assistant saw video footage of him getting into a small van and driving away on CCTV.

Police who were informed of the benefit fraudster by his employers confiscated his stick before arresting and charging him with fraud.

Pregnant Posh, 30, said: "David is very much a new man and is totally in touch with his feminine side.

"He loves having his face and nails done. And every night we cover ourselves in moisturiser, eye creams, face creams - you name it."
