Pipe dream
India and Iran pull the plug on Shaukat Aziz's Pipeline- Kashmir Formula---- By signing a $40bn deal with Iran to import liquefied gas for the next 25 years, India has pulled the plug on Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz's political formula of attempting to pressurize India by linking the resolution of Kashmir with India's rapid energy requirements vis-vis an Iran-India pipeline by-passing Pakistan. A joint statement said India would import 7.5 million tons a year (tpy) of LNG starting 2009 and running for 25 years. “Every last detail has been settled, price too,” said Indian Oil Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar after talks with his Iranian counterpart, Bijan Zanganeh, on Friday.

Hot line
US Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld will be traveling to China this year and the Pentagon is discussing the creation of a telephone hot line to the Chinese military, according to the Washington Times.
Chinese military officials have already been to the U.S. and were allowed to see sensitive U.S. military facilities, such as the Pentagon's National Command Center. Now U.S. military officials want to see China's Western Hills Command Center, a secret underground facility that is considered a key command post.

9/11
The Bush administration has blocked the public release of the full, classified version of a new 9/11 report for more than five months, according to the New York Times. The administration finally provided a heavily 'blacked out' (redacted) classified report and a declassified report two weeks ago. The edited report revealed that in the months before the Sept. 11 attacks, federal aviation officials reviewed dozens of intelligence reports that warned about Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda, some of which specifically discussed airline hijackings and suicide operations. Imagine what's in the blacked out part of the of the new 9/11 report. (FPI)

Laura Bush 'coverup'
Laura Welch (Laura Bush) and Judy Dykes were allegedly riding in a Chevrolet sedan on a clear night shortly after 8 p.m. on Nov. 6, 1963, when Laura ran a stop sign and struck a Corvair sedan driven by her alleged boyfriend and killed him. His name was Michael Douglas (17).

Midland, Texas city officials at the time declined to release the records.

37 years later, the police report was forced to be released in response to an open-records request that was submitted to Midland officials in 2000.

The speed of Laura Bush's car was illegible on the report. The speed limit for the road was 55.

Laura Bush (17) and her passenger, Judy Dykes, also 17, were taken to a hospital and treated for minor injuries, according to an accident account printed at the time in the Midland Reporter-Telegram.

The police report indicates no charges were filed. That section of the report was left blank.

Does this mean any 17 year old can run a stop sign and kill a person and expect no charges?

What are the chances of running a stop sign and killing your boyfriend?
