Indian actresses to feature in Waris Baig’s video

Waris BaigFEB 17 - Singer Waris Baig has shot videos in Bombay for his new album ‘Teray Bina’, featuring Indian actresses Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora, Waris Daily Times reported on Thursday.

He said that he had sent the album to Malaika on the actress’s request for her judgment, after which both women agreed to perform in the videos. He said that unlike Pakistani actresses, Indians were professionals in the manner that they did not agree to perform in the videos without listening to the songs. “She liked the songs and we had a three-day shooting spell in Bombay’, he said, adding the actresses had performed in the videos of two songs, ‘Teray Bina’ and ‘Zulf Da Kundal’. Baig said that the videos would go on air before Basant or two days after it.

Waris said he would cast Diya Mirza in his next album but her availability depended on her free time.

An amateur guitarist during his college days, Waris had to endure a lot pain for his passion. "Mine was an orthodox Muslim family from Lahore and my father did every bit to keep me away from my guitar. At that time, a career in music was a distant dream and I started as a storekeeper in Lahore. But, the destiny judged in my favor and notable Pakistani director, Saeed Noor, spotted my talent and gave me my first break in the film `Sangam'," reminisces Waris.

Since then, Waris has sung in over 200 Pakistani movies. Besides, he has composed solo albums like Chand Jharoke Mein, Janoori, Jan-e-Baharan and Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya. His single "Neele neele ambar pe chand jab aaye" has been aired on Indian radio and seems quite popular among Indian listeners.
