NJ, JULY 21 - Lollywood actress Meera who has starred in
Bollywood's 'Nazar' and 'Kasak'
is proud of her beauty and youth.
In a recent talk
with an Indian daily newspaper, Meera has said
she was prettier and younger than Bollywood actresses Rani
Mukherjee and Preity Zinta. "I possess a nicer face and am
more photogenic."
When asked what made her conclude that she could be a Madhuri
Dixit of the Indian film industry, Meera reportedly said, "I want to become Madhuri Dixit and I think I have got the
right kind of talent for that. I am playing the character of
Madhuri Dixit in the Pakistani remake of Devdas. I feel that
I can do it successfully."
She is also not too happy about Bollywood
for the latter's treatment towards her. Meera, who is
noted Indian filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's favorite actress, will
soon be seen in another Bhatt movie titled 'Akelapan' in a
prominent role. "It is wondered if she will be able to win
more friends in India in the wake of her criticism of
Bollywood. But, the Pakistani actress is in a fighting mood
and is confident of turning out the top most actress of
Bollywood," wrote smashhits.com. According to Meera, she
is only 24 years old whereas Indian actresses are by and
large 30 years old. So, she has more scope than her Indian
contemporary actresses to show her talent in the times to
come, the article added..
Regarding the controversy over 'Rocking Meera', she says
that she would not allow any director to make a movie on her
life. However, she would welcome if Mahesh Bhatt attempts a
movie on her life. According to reports, Javed Sidiqui is writing a
script for a movie on her life, and Meera wishes to rope in
Emraan Hashmi, Abhishek Bachchan and Ashmit Patel for the
main roles.
Meera denies that she had 'fled' from Bollywood - India's
famous tinsel town. She asserts
that she had gone to London for shooting of Lux ad and then
to Australia.
She has been to Pakistan also, her home country, for shooting of Iqbal Kashmiri's 'Chandramukhi'. She adds that she will soon
be busy in Bollywood movies like Nerraj Sahai's 'Simran' and
a Feroz Khan's much coveted 'Qurbani'.
However, Meera says Pakistani government has "warned her" against acting in Feroz Khan's 'Qurbani',
presumably because of a tiff between Feroz Khan and the
authorities during the former's recent visit to Pakistan for
releasing Indian movies like 'Akbar Khan's 'Taj Mahal' and
K.Asif's 'Mughal-E-Azam' in its color version . However,
Akbar Khan, maker of 'Taj Mahal' who recently released it in
Pakistan as a special case, may persuade Pak authorities to
allow her to work with Feroz in 'Qurbani', she feels. (DesPardes
